Customer Service Representative/Revenue Office

The City of Keene is now accepting applications for a Customer Service Representative in the Revenue Collection Office!  If you enjoy working with the public and helping people solve problems, and you pride yourself on your customer service skills, then this is the job for you!  This full-time Account Clerk II position has a competitive pay range of $22.29 - $27.78 per hour
In this position you will enter, calculate, and process financial data and payments for City tax, water, and sewer bills, as well as process motor vehicle registrations.  You’ll also research account entries, resolve issues, verify, and post funds received and disbursed, and assist City staff and outside agencies with status of accounts, both in person and over the phone.  Other duties include collating account statements, invoices, reports, or other records; organizing, sorting, and filing documents, invoices, and checks; photocopying, faxing, operating postage machines, and processing incoming mail.
 
The ideal candidate will be able to work successfully with financial data and reports, be proficient with data entry and computers, including spreadsheets and accounting software, and be organized and detail oriented, with excellent public service skills, and oral and written communication skills.  Cash handling experience would be a plus! They will have coursework in bookkeeping or accounting plus one year’s experience with preparation and maintenance of financial records or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
