The Town of Swanzey is pleased to announce that the Recreation Department will be holding a summer camp in 2020, although due to the COVID-19 global health pandemic and State of Emergency camp this year will be smaller and have a number of changes. The Governor’s Stay at Home 2.0 Guidelines for Day Camps give specific rules and guidance for the Town to follow. Swanzey summer camp is held at Richardson Park (60 East Shore Road) for children ages 5 to 11 and includes excellent supervision, swimming, entertainment, arts and crafts, water & beach play, porch games, special demonstrations, and more. The Town will be taking the necessary
preparations to provide a safe and fun summer camp. Unfortunately, due to staffing and COVID19 related reasons the Town will not be able to offer Swim Lessons or Splash and Play this year. Camp this year will be broken into two separate sessions, which will each be limited to 32 children:
- Session 1 is a 4 week camp running from the week of June 29th through the week of July 20th. The total cost is $400 and a non-refundable deposit of $200 will be required to confirm camp attendance. The remaining $200 will be due by Friday July 10th
- Session 2 is a 3 week camp running from the week of July 27th through the week of August 10th. The total cost is $300 and a non-refundable deposit of $150 will be required to confirm camp attendance. The remaining $150 will be due by Friday July 31st
This year campers cannot sign up for camp by the day or week, they must sign up for a full session. Families interested in participating in summer camp are encouraged to closely review the sign up paperwork, which outlines changes to the program this year. Completed registration forms with payment should be returned to Jenna Fraunfelder in the Selectmen’s Office at Town Hall. Applications are first come first serve with priority for families who signed up for the waitlist this spring.
Questions should be directed to Recreation Director Aaron Cherry 209-2927 or firstname.lastname@example.org and Administrative Assistant Jenna Fraunfelder at 352-7411 ext. 115 or email@example.com.
Sign up forms are available at Swanzey Town Hall and on the Town’s website, www.swanzeynh.gov.
