The City of Keene is actively recruiting men and women for part-time Call Firefighter openings! Being a Call Firefighter can be a very rewarding experience, with opportunities for career advancement. Eligible candidates will be considered to fill current vacant positions and also will be considered for placement on a one year hiring list with the Keene Fire Department. Experience and certification are preferred, however the fire department is willing to provide training for outstanding candidates.
Certified Firefighters Level I: $15.75 per hour.
Certified Level II Firefighters: $18.90 per hour.
Non-certified candidates: $10.50 per hour, with increase to $13.65 per hour once certification is obtained.
Applicants must be a resident of Keene or live within five miles of the City lines, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. Must successfully pass NFPA 1582 wellness evaluation; must successfully complete within 18 months of hire of State of New Hampshire Firefighter One, Hazardous Awareness/Operations and Decontamination, and CPR.
