Weathering Winter: Life at Low Temperatures
Tuesday, January 19
5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Join Harris Center ecologist Karen Seaver for an introduction to the ways in which animals, plants, and microbes have adapted to life in extreme cold. Karen will offer examples of ecological strategies from environments that are always cold (Antarctica and high-elevation alpine zones), as well as places that are seasonally frigid (winter in New Hampshire). From penguins to polar bears, bobcats to barred owls, learn how life goes on when the mercury drops.
