Walking the Labyrinth - Seeking Peace and Unity in a Time of Change, Katie Schwe
Name: Walking the Labyrinth - Seeking Peace and Unity in a Time of Change, Katie Schwe
Date: April 23, 2017
Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT
Description: In this journey of discovery, participants will learn how to design and use a labyrinth for meditation, renewal, and to find direction in life. “All the world religions contain teachings that articulate the journey of the spiritual seeker; the path one must walk in order to grow in compassion and respond to the world with clarity and wisdom. In essence, the task is to grow the substance of the soul.” (Walking a Sacred Path: Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Practice, by Lauren Artress) During this workshop, you will learn about different labyrinth forms along with various approaches to the journey that each one offers. You will also explore how to create a labyrinth at home. Each participant will create her or his own finger labyrinth to take home so that even if a full-scale labyrinth is not available where you live, you will still have a way to “walk” the labyrinth. We will end our time together by walking the 7-circuit classical labyrinth located at Badger. Bio: Katie Schwerin has spent over 40 years on a spiritual path, and in the last 10 years, it has included the study of the labyrinth. She led the construction of the 7-circuit classical labyrinth at the W.S. Badger site. Most recently, Katie has been creating different labyrinths in the snow, guided by her exercises of drawing the various labyrinth forms. Katie is co-owner and COO of the W.S. Badger Co., and has been a teacher at the Monadnock Waldorf School for 17 years.
