Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce Regional Issue SeriesHousing in the Monadnock Region: Addressing Quality of Life and Workforce Needs
Thursday, December 12, 2019
Featuring George Reagan, Community Engagement for NH Housing and a panel of experts will provide diverse perspectives on the issue of housing in Southwest NH.
About this Event
Housing is a basic and fundamental component of our quality of life. Is our existing housing stock of sufficient quality? Is it aligned with the needs and preferences of current and future residents? Are adequate housing choices available in the region in light of changing demographics? And what about affordability and meeting the expectations of our workforce? Questions such as these will be the focus of this session. Please joins us for an interesting and compelling discussion, and to add your voice to the direction for the future of the Monadnock Region.
About the Series
The purpose of the Keene Chamber of Commerce, as described in its by-laws, is “to advance the commercial, industrial, educational, cultural, recreational and general welfare of Keene and the surrounding area.”
We know that our region (like many around the country) has economic development challenges and related opportunities, including: workforce development; regional transportation & transit; physical & digital infrastructure; energy; workforce housing; population health; travel & tourism; and the creative economy.
In support of our members – nearly 500 organizations – we launched our Regional Issues Series in 2015. Our goal, with each forum, is: to raise awareness about the issues; to better understand the complexities of the issues; to explore ways we might engage on the issues; and ways our voices can be heard to influence public policy – all with the goal of creating a more vibrant 21st century economy in the Monadnock Region.
