Increasing military cultural competence and “Asking the Question” transforms access to care for those who have served in the military. In a statewide survey, NH veterans let us know that one of the top barriers in receiving care was that they “do not feel understood by the providers who serve them.” Military culture education can bridge that gap, and has the power to transform care by equipping providers with the tools they need to improve rapport, communication, and referral pathways.

Please take advantage of this free opportunity to enhance the quality of care for NH Service Members, Veterans, and their Families.  The training’s have shown to be very beneficial for providers who have attended these sessions throughout the summer:
  • "Very powerful material! Thank you for a mix of speaking, videos, and question time."
  • "As a military spouse, presently the Brigade Commander’s wife, and FSG leader, ALL of this information was especially helpful and informative. I wish more people could hear and go through the training you gave. It was awesome and I cannot thank you enough for all you are doing!”
  • "After I attending this session, I will improve awareness of available resources and spread the word to increase overall sensitivity to unique aspects of military culture."
  • "I will incorporate Ask the Question at my agency by including it in all our behavioral health intakes and ER crisis screenings to promote resource access and collaboration with collateral agencies."
  • "Based on what I learned about stigma, I will challenge stereotypes with respect and kindness, educate staff/volunteers to put stigma reduction into practice, and encourage ongoing training!"
We hope to see you there!
