Kids on Campus School Vacation Camp 2017 is coming!
2017 Kids on Campus School Vacation Camps - February 20-24 and April 17-21
Keene State College has a proud history of hosting Kids on Campus, a summertime program for children in the Monadnock region. Thanks to the positive feedback, we are offering two new camps during the weeks of February and April school vacation. These new programs will provide a valuable week of interactive adventure and learning for young campers in grades 1-5.
The February vacation camp will be led by Stephanie Durvin, who graduated from Keene State with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and General Science and is currently working toward her Master's in Special Education. Stephanie has experience working with children ages 5 to 14 in a range of educational settings. Her program, Let it Snow!, will embrace winter weather with all things winter. They will paint in the snow, engineer an igloo, and concoct a special hot chocolate recipe! In addition to outdoor fun, they will be spend time indoors experimenting with fizzing snowflakes and candy cane chemistry.
The April vacation camp will be led by Emily Rhodenhauser, a teacher for the 3rd and 4th grades at the Sarah Porter School in Langdon. A Keene State graduate, Emily has also served as the Assistant Director for the Kids on Campus summer program for the past two years. Her vacation camp, Bloom into Science, will spark the interest of our future scientists. Kids will engage in experiments that test their ideas, they’ll engineer simple machines, even design and build their own rockets. They’ll get their creative juices flowing as they make invisible ink and gooey, ooey, oobleck.
The Kids on Campus school vacation camps will be held at the KSC camp on Wilson Pond in Swanzey, Monday through Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm, with before and after care extended hours available.
The cost is $200 for one full week and includes snacks. You may register by calling 603-358-2290. Space is limited, so register for both weeks soon!
